Discover the Power of a Pause
Take time to recharge your mind and your body. And don’t forget to prioritize your biggest and most important recharging station: your nightly sleep.
Find Calm and Clarity in the Quiet Times
Basketball fans know: Sometimes you just need to call a timeout and reset. This can include taking brief moments throughout the day to try a breathing exercise, meditate, listen to a favorite song, or just be still for a few moments. Taking a break can help you refocus, recharge, and avoid burnout.
Give It a Try
How do you pause in your everyday life? During the 2024 All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis, fans shared their pointers.
Hit Pause
There are things constantly pulling on our time, energy, and attention throughout the day. So, for a few moments right now, pause and just be still.
Don’t Sleep on Sleep
Each night, strive for seven to eight hours of sleep in a dark, quiet, comfortable environment. Consider turning off electronics an hour before bed.
Try a Breathing Exercise
Have you heard of box breathing? Breathe in, hold your breath in, breathe out, and then hold your breath — each to the count of four. Repeat this three times.
De-Stress Your Day
Guided imagery exercises are another good way to reduce tension in your body and mind. In a comfortable chair, close your eyes and visualize a place where you feel at peace.
Meet the Centered Center
Stop for a moment and take a long, slow, deep breath. That feeling is what the Centered Center is all about. There’s just a certain calmness about them. Need a good listener? Here’s your person. Because, in a way, they are always listening to themselves — always tuned in to how they’re feeling and how to cut the stress out of their life.
